In reply to the discussion: Hold on! Iran has decided to close the Strait of Hormuz! [View all]Safe as Milk
(138 posts)Closing the Strait is one of them. They have leverage, and they're compelled to use it. There are risks with anything, but equations change after unprovoked intrusions into Iran's territory. Israel's and the US's aggression is indeed provocative and begs for retaliation. God isn't making these decisions. Imperfect people are making them: people with varying motivations and misperceptions that do NOT have "peace" as the endgame. Iran is also an imperfect victim. They could have done plenty to avoid conflict with Israel in the medium and long term. They are partially responsible for all of this, but as singular incidents, the bombing, the destruction and the aggression comes from the US and Israel. They are the perpetrators of international crimes. End of story.
