8. It's beginning to be obvious that Trump isn't the one really calling the shots anymore.

I suspect Stephen Miller is acting as a go between for the real rulers. He has Trump's ear, and can influence him to say/do what they want.
You might want to consider people like Elon Musk, Peter Theil, Harlan Crow, and other billionaires as being the real force behind Project 2025, and the actual people "guiding" the government toward fascism.
The "big beautiful bill" makes permanent the big tax break they got in 2017, but the real problem with that bill is the huge increase in funding for ICE. We're seeing a large "brown shirt" army forming, and a whole bunch more detention camps being built.
My concern is that these camp are going to be around for a long time, and that immigrants are only part of their targeted prisoners.
