12. "Functioning Brain" is the key detail

Many listeners feel some kind of validation due to their own less than functioning brain. The powers that be did a big look into education back in the very early 20th century around the time Carnegie was building all the libraries. They decided to have a low general education level, just enough for factories and typing pools, and not a broad base high education that might drive development and social progress but also higher taxes and limits on the most wealthy. Then decades of funding anti socialist research and propaganda.
