So trump seems to be very unpopular in the UK, as evidenced by the protests [View all]

CNN and MSNBC are actually covering the protests there. But it also seems that he is getting the "star" treatment from the royals. King Charles has rolled out the red carpet and then some. Three marching bands, a carriage ride, lots of pomp. CNN even said his welcome from Charles was more than what is usually given a US President.

Just wondering why, if he is extremely unpopular among the people, the royals feel they need to do more than the minimum. They are also keeping him away from the protests so his feelings don't get hurt.
