And Greg Palast has shown that more than three million people were disenfranchised through Republican skullduggery.

So really I think that it is about one third of the electorate who are either enthusiastic about authoritarianism (80%) or willing to accept it (20%) if it what is necessary to keep them in charge.

The problem for the Democratic party is that when the apathetic and ignorant third start to wake up they won't understand how things have gotten so bad. The Republican propaganda machine will be ready to spew hateful lies. The Democratic party needs to be ready with the truth.
