24. PAs literally run urgent care clinics these days, especially in rural areas with doctor shortages.

I was traveling through the middle of nowhere in Wyoming when I got very sick. My Google search showed there was no hospital for over 100 hundreds of miles, just a sole Urgent Care Clinic in the small town off Highway 80 I was passing through, so I stopped there.

The only trained medical person there was a PA, but she was amazing. Wrote me a Rx for antibiotics and I was on my way. Thank God she was there.

Discouraging PA study by dropping them from the list of professionals is pure insanity.
