Both American-born right wingers and Cuban emigres got a lot of traction out of labeling those of us who favored easing tensions with Havana as tools of the Kremlin.

Fast-forward to 2025. The Soviet Union is gone. Russia is now an authoritarian kleptocracy unfriendly to the US. And a certain Florida congressional representative is as acting as shamelessly as a tool of the Kremlin as “fellow travelers” and genuine America Commies did 60 years ago.
