FloriDUH: Trio of moonshiners busted in the Sunshine State

On Thursday detectives busted three Haines City men for allegedly making and selling illegal hooch.

During a search of the home of Ricky Lamar Barnes, 31, who lives on the aptly named Carl Boozer Road, detectives found a gun safe in the Barnes allegedly told detectives the cannabis "was old" and he had forgotten to get rid it, as it was his "rainy day" pot, according to an arrest affidavit form the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Barnes owned the equipment and apparently had a talent for refining the booze and creating assorted flavors such as pineapple, apple pie, and peach, deputies said.

Detectives also found a moonshine still and still equipment inside the garage of Joe Douglas Aaron, 73, along with numerous mason jars of the moonshine which appeared to have been distilled from a mixture of grains. The still was in a bathroom next to a dirty sink and a toilet, according to the Sheriff's Office.
