(62,325 posts)First of all the NYC FD was PREVENTED from doing the standard investigation they always do after any fire. And they are STILL angry over that. Now why would ANYONE want to STOP even such a routine investigation and WHO gave that order?
Just one of the many ways that 9/11 investigations were HAMPERED. And it was not Congress, certainly not Dems who finally over rode Bush's incredible decision NOT to have ANY investigation AT ALL. It was the victims' families and other groups supporting them that finally SHAMED them into some kind of investigation.
Btw, do you know what testimony was provided by Bush/Cheney, I don't. I'd like to know why they were allowed to give that testimony in secret, and NOT SEPARATELY.
What a sham it all was, indicating that someone was trying to hide something.
What should have happened was a total protection of the crime scene, (this did not happen when Giuliani ordered all the steel from the towers to be sent out of the state and melted down before anyone could analyze it). Then the routine investigations by the FD should have gone forward immediately. Just for starters.
A thorough investigation with public hearings, all testimony made PUBLIC should have been CALLED FOR by Congress and the POTUS. But the exact opposite happened. Incredibly.
'If they had nothing to hide they would have nothing to fear'. But clearly that was intense fear of something and because of that people will remain skeptical of any 'findings' whether you like it or not. This had to be the most hampered investigation ever of a major crime.
