61. They are not all 'desperate'

That would at least explain them to some extent.

The only people I know who support him are relatives with whom I am 'friends' with on Facebook.

At least a couple of them are very well off. So they could see him as the candidate who will keep their taxes low, preserve their 'interests' - in money, in guns, in the status quo, in general.

Another relative I know really disliked Trump - but has been taught to hate Hillary more - and she listens to all the conservative crap on TV and internet - so that is all she knows. I had to stop following her on Facebook - because I couldn't take it - seeing the crap she posts.
