(38,147 posts)51. By eliminating taxes on overtime it will eliminate the 40 hour work week.
Before I retired one of the complaints we had with the union was being forced to
work overtime. That kept the company from hiring more people. The last few years I worked
we were being told on Friday how many days we would have to work over the next week.
Now the vast majority of employees will accept working 60 hours or more work schedules with few complaints. There will be much less opposition to working more hours and basically eliminating the 40 hour work week.
