In reply to the discussion: Donald Trump Accused Of 'Blatant And Vile Anti-Semitism' With 'Deeply Dangerous' Trope [View all]Mike 03
(18,674 posts)I saw some major news organizations rewrite what Trump said this week about deporting American born citizens he'd characterized as "bad people." These organizations said Trump had threatened to deport American-born "criminals." He did not say that. This is a perfect example of how Trump has always used the term "bad people." He means people he doesn't like. He was probably recalling some negative experiences he's had trying to obtain loans during or around the time of his numerous financial failures, where intelligent loan officers refused his requests for loans. "Bad people."
This week, Trump DID NOT threaten to deport American-born criminals. He threatened to deport American-born citizens he doesn't like. "Bad people." Bad people could mean Adam Schiff, Cassidy Hutchinson, the Capitol police who testified against him, and it could mean people who wrote him nasty tweets or emails.
Please listen carefully to how he uses that phrase "bad people."
And shame on any major news organization that mischaracterized what he said to try to clean up his mess.
And thanks for reading this, because I realize it's tangential and slightly off the topic of the OP. Sorry!
