In reply to the discussion: Donald Trump Accused Of 'Blatant And Vile Anti-Semitism' With 'Deeply Dangerous' Trope [View all]Behind the Aegis
(55,578 posts)Also as true, are those who IMMEDIATELY jump to "whataboutism", mocking anti-Semitism, blaming a Jew for it, "concern" as to if the ADL or other group of Jews (including AIPAC) commented or "are satisfied", or any other reason that can be conjured rather than actually address the anti-Semitism. When it comes to anti-Semitism, excuses flow like cheap-ass "whine".
I am still waiting for "I can't be an anti-Semite (or, "it's not really anti-Semitic)" because I have a Jewish kid and grandkids!" That is a popular refrain among anti-Semites, knowing ones and the kitchen table variety. I know he has already said he "didn't know" it was anti-Semitic, another favorite, but I find that HIGHLY dubious as someone who was raised in NYC, a city which hosts the LARGEST population of Jews in the world outside of Israel. I find it hard to believe, almost impossible, he has never heard it was an anti-Semitic slur.
