It is just that the '4th estate' is relying on those who are not on the same page as said 4th estate.

The goal of the 4th estate is to resist corruption and tyranny in the government.

The goal of the media is to become rich. They look to which stories will get them there. They don't care what the story is about.

They get more clicks from the stories they are running than playing 'citizen detective'. They don't have to risk upsetting the orange gibbon either.

Fortunately, we have the internet. We don't have to filter our narrative through a press that doesn't want to draw the wrong kind of attention. We really need to start using this resource better. The right has flooded the world with its content.
