On expects that he meant a variation of muliciana or mulignana, both Sicilian dialectical terms for "eggplant" that idiotic NY Italian-Americans have been using a slur for black people for many years (it appears in Spike Lee's Do the Right Thing, and Giuliani's people famously encouraged the chant "Fuck the Moolie Vote for Giuli" during his second run against David Dinkins).

By the way, the Italian word for eggplant in melanzana, and I've never heard anyone in Italy (or even Sicily) use the term in the racist NY Italian American way. The fact that this Ingrassia clown spelled it "moulignon," which looks really French, tells me everything I need to know: far divorced from his Italian heritage, he's cobbled together this fake ass third-gen nonsense and very likely couldn't string together a sentence of Italian if you paid him.
