Now pollsters will include her name in preliminary polls for the Dem nomination, and Harris’ team will be watching closely to see if this “balloon” generates any interest or momentum.

Unfortunately, donors will almost certainly sit in their hands, and IMO, Harris has little to no chance of being the Dem nominee in 2028 should she choose to run. The primary schedule will be structured to favor a straight white male not named Shapiro or Newsom.

Wish it weren’t so, as Whitmer is my favourite, but when a party spends $20 million to learn “how to listen to men” rather than how to get more women and young people to vote, the writing seems to be on the proverbial wall.
