Bruce Springsteen writes about Americans' economic struggles in Washington Post [View all]

Springsteen writes about the book “Someplace Like America: Tales From the New Great Depression,” a collaboration by Columbia journalism professor Dale Maharidge and Post photographer Michael S. Williamson, which tells the struggles of American workers as industries shut down or leave the country.

Thank heaven that a major public figure like Springsteen reminds of us the existence of so many unemployed Americans that Corporate Media would like us to forget. It's so easy for the media to dismiss human beings as statistics, while ignoring the pain and hardship suffered by those who have been rolled over and flattened by the 1%.
As a former New Jerseyan, I am proud beyond words that Bruce has never forgotten his working-class roots.
