When I first saw the movie I wasn't aware that Prine was in it. As the movie went along I said myself, "gee, that guy looks very familiar", so I checked on IMDB and sure enough, it was John! Of course that made the movie instantly better.
I originally bought it because Laura Dern and Billy Bob were engaged at the time, and wanted to see them together in the movie. Then along came Angelina Jolie. 
She more than met her match with Billy Bob though. Then she went on to ruin other relationships. It really is a funny movie. I'm sure you'd enjoy it.
