(13,689 posts)68. Rooster, duck, mockingbird...
I was about 4 years old when a duck at the local pond got real interested in my shoelaces, and tried to eat(?) them. At any rate, it was unsettling enough to make me want to get out of there fast.
At 6 years old, there was a mockingbird in our backyard that would swoop down and peck at my head. I don't know if it was attracted to the bright, copper colored hair that I had back then, but it made me run back inside every time.
The banty rooster, Pete, that my mom owned, was just an asshole that tried to spur me any time he could.

I should have referred to that snake as "it" rather than "him" in my earlier post.

Each time I turned to see, it vanished. But I swear I was being followed by a Moon Shadow.
