I don't know if they still are unreliable but two separate people that I know had Kia's back in the day and they were constantly at the Kia dealer getting repaired luckily while under warranty. As soon as the warranty expired, those Kia's were replaced. I don't know how Kia's are today but I heard enough about them that I wouldn't buy one. That's just me.

I would definitely check out the Honda CR-V and I would check out the Mazda CX-5 or larger size of the Mazda. I would check out anything by Toyota as well but I'm not up to speed about the Toyota models but everyone says great things about that vehicle brand. And they have for years. I don't know anything about Hyundai.

I would purchase certified used as well and not brand new. You'll save some money that way. Mazda certified used is under warranty for 7 years or 100K miles minus what's already on the speedometer. Whatever comes first. So if you purchase a vehicle with 23K miles there's still 77k left on the warranty. I don't know about other dealerships and their certified used warranties so definitely ask about that.

Make sure you are receiving a good deal on your trade in if you go that route. You might have to sell out right to get what it's worth at some of these dealers.

Just my 5 cents!
