Everything functions fine under Win 7. Why would the printer system have to be changed forcing manufacturers to create new drivers. Printers were the thing that almost always worked in Windows, even before plug and play.

As far as Brady goes, some of the people they hire are clueless idiots. The sales rep they sent out wasn't even aware that there was a Windows 8. We have had to send back numerous label rolls due to improper programming of the chip inside the roll. They gave us a new printer to use but didn't give us the proper supplies to use it. The new printer was incompatible with our older label files but they did offer to retype hundreds of files in the new format.

It is just easier to use Win 7 and the old printer. Buying new printers is not an option as they are quite expensive. The AB Clearmark is used to create terminal markers for our electrical panels. It is an inkjet that bakes the markers after printing them. Once they cool, you can break them of and snap them into the terminals. It's a pretty cool setup:
