29. I'm Surprised At Pelosi...
Edited on Tue Dec-14-04 07:48 PM by iamjoy
I mean, I expected this from Reid, but I thought Pelosi was a true Democrat, stood for true Democratic principles and wasn't afraid to fight it out ("Democrats have it right.")

Has anyone read Thomas Frank's "What's The Matter With Kansas" ? Do you think they are trying to move the Dems back to the old populist agenda (fiscally moderate/liberal; socially conservative)? In so doing they would abandon the Environmentalists and Pro-Choice crowd. And all in a gamble to win back the hearts and minds of people who will always vote for the more socially conservative candidate. Look what happened in the Coburn/Carson Senate race in Oklahoma.
