The terrorists are an "anarcho-warrior" class - they see any diminution of active hositility as a threat to their life style. They're not equipped to do anything productive (at least the Japanese Kamikazi pilots could build Toyopets and Nikkorex cameras and market ball point pens after VJ Day)

Don't care if they're fired from civilian law enforement jobs (as Charles Grainer of Abu Ghraib) or "soldiers of fortune"/mercenaries (http://www.nytimes.com/2005/08/14/magazine/14PRIVATI.html, Bergner, The Other Army) or Hezbollah or Hamas or Jihad or AlQauda. They are anarcho-warriors.

Put a political label on them - they are still Charles Mansons and BTK Killers and Timothy McVeighs and Eric Rudolfs and if they have PhD degrees they are Steve Cambone and Paul Wolfowitz.
