and I hope the people of Iowa understand. Maybe they could prepare a video to be shown at the debates apologizing for missing and explaining the importance of their going back to Washington. That'd both give them a (limited) presence at the debate and it'd be great support for the filibuster.

I also hope the other candidates are gracious (supportive even, but that's probably too much to hope for) of their missing the debate for such an important session. It'd be really nice if they bring up the issue in the debates and the candidates throw their weight behind it instead of always criticizing each other.
