In a statement read out after the hearing by her solicitor, James Welch, Mrs Gun said she would defend the charges against her on the basis that her actions were "necessary to prevent an illegal war in which thousands of Iraqi civilians and British soldiers would be killed or maimed".

Her defence will be in effect to put the government on trial for attacking Iraq with hopefully the BBC and the some newspapers giving it lots of nice coverage. Probably garenteed at least 50% of the jury voting in her favour.

If blair has got any brains at all he will just quietly drop the charges. But then he is full self-righteousness so this has potential.
