for inviting Iraqi insurgents to attack and kill our troops? Did the Commander of the American Legion ever ask him to? For that matter, did the American Legion ever ask Bush and the Republican party to apologize for mocking wounded American Veterans at their convention by wearing purple bandaids?

Our Democratic leadership should be out there demanding apologies for these outrages, on behalf of the American soldiers and veterans. All of our leaders should hit on this at every press conference. They should be demanding that the American Legion either declare itself as a partisan organization, or that it should demand apologies from Bush and the Republicans, and stop deliberately misinterpreting and misrepresenting statements by Democrats.
