the government of Iraq will be out of our hands. The Iraqis will decide, one way or the other, what their government looks like and how it behaves. Did it ever occur to anyone that under the dreaded Saddam the Iraqis were armed? They had a tradition of shooting off weapons at celebrations - you can't do that unless you have the weapons. Our own soldiers said that every guy on the street was armed when they got there. I don't know whether the Iraqis will pick or allow a "strongman" to take over or not, but anything we do now is just going to make things worse. I say, start loading up right now, today, and get us the hell out of there! If we had completely evacuated yesterday, it would have been too late.
