The US Govt pulled the tax-exempt status of many groups in the country because their complicity in illegal activities. (i.e. Neo Nazi and Aryan groups) This would work with the Catholic church. They either comply with US law or lose their status. This would solve the budget woes of a lot of states. I am not anti-Catholic, but I am against child sodomy and their attemps to cover up crimes. They are required by law to report every complaint.
