This is more like the sixties in America than the thirties in Germany

Think about it:
-In 1960, Richard Nixon, the VP of a very popular president who won reelection easily was beaten by the less experienced JFK on style, not substance, in a highly contested election.
-In 1963, a national tragedy occured and as a result the Democrats were almost guaranteed to keep the White House. In 2001, Sept. 11th happened, guaranteeing the Republicans keeping the WH.
-In 1964, Barry Goldwater was defeated, no surprise, by LBJ, although this was the turning point in the American conservative movement. Before that, "conservative" was a dirty word. We can do the same thing.

Not to mention Vietnam=Iraq, which means that we will most likely, if I am right, have a President Gore in '08.
