the impulse to preserve his image as a sober analyst of truth, will prevail even if he has to lie.

He is set to write a book or sit on the board of some corporation for easy bucks, and titillate us all with his "revelations"

The man is only looking out for himself and has no conscience, imo, and is not to be excused because he is "military" and programmed to obey orders.

Compare with Gen. Clark, for instance.
