Here are two of the problems I see with the Freeper's theory.

1) I believe that Wilson is viewed as a whistleblower, a status that is defined by and protected from prosecution by federal law. To qualify for that status, Wilson and his conduct in making disclosures about government business must meet certain criteria.

2) I believe Wilson was or had served in the diplomatic corps, but I haven't seen any suggestion that his trip to Niger was classified or that he was under cover in Niger. Perhaps I missed something and am mistaken on this, but I believe he went as a private citizen, but not particularly under cover. Am I wrong, or didn't he go because he already had contacts, trust and credibility in certain circles in Niger?

3) Wilson did not out his wife. He did not out anyone.
