2. I expect politicians to be corrupt, but I expect the media to be ...
... honest, curious, and detail hungry.

With Bush in office I expected rampant cronyism, unabashed pandering to Big Oil interests, and injurious domestic & foreign policies. For this reason I can't really blame the Administration: they are being true to their ideals, even if I vehemently disagree with them.

Now, with the Big Media, on the other hand, I am sorely disappointed. More specifically, I am majorly pissed off. They are the populace's only hope of ever learning about corruption, and they have obliterated every ounce of respect I had for them.

For a moment, every American should detach from his and her party and burn each of the Big Media figureheads at the stake. Then we should crucify all the talking heads who incited the flag-waving morons. Then we should take the ashes and the corpses and dump them in the ocean, chum for the violent sharks.

Journalists have an obligation to the truth. A society cannot be free unless it is informed.

Yes, the administration lied to us, in so many ways: they should all be behind bars. But, our trust has been more egregiously violated by the Media, and for that we should ignite a media revolution.
