31. Clinton was the right guy at the right time
No way was a hard-core lib going to win the White House in '92.

Hate to be a naysayer, but look at Dukakis and Mondale. They were basically laughed at. No way a hard left guy was getting elected after 12 years of Reagan and Bush.

Clinton is a fairly liberal to moderate guy who had to make a lot of compromises. Usually, compromise is the only way to get things done in D.C. And he did make the Democratic party look good, blowjobs aside. All in all, he was a great president. With experience in balancing Arkansas' budget, he helped usher in the most robust economy in our nation's history, regardless of what the GOP might lead you to think.

Hell, in a perfect world, IMHO, we'd have a President Kucinich. But we don't live in a perfect world. Yet.

This stuff takes some time.

And this is coming from me, a guy who thinks Paul Wellstone was the best senator of the past two decades.
