They weren't "cured", but their conditions (paralysis, Lou Gehrig's disease) were improved.

The GOP doesn't want you to know that stem cells are already being used to treat patients, or that Americans have to fly to places like China, Australia and even Cuba to seek state of the art care that is unavailable or unaffordable here. It just doesn't fit with their message that stem cells don't work or their message that America has the greatest health care system in the world.
