One of the sad realities is that most people who are not disabled don't understand what it's like to be disabled and assume that the lives of the severely disabled aren't worth preserving. It's in that sense, the idea that some people have no right to life, that this is tied to the attitudes associated with eugenics.

About the Schiavo case:

I've read that Terri's husband's fiancee wants a Catholic wedding, which she won't be able to have with a divorced man, and that's the reason he wants Terri to die.

Whatever his reason, I don't think he has ever acted in Terri's best interests.
