Seriously. I would be willing to be that the people asking wanted to say this anyway. They probably just needed someone to tell them that it is ok to ask tough questions.

I loved the look on Rumsfeld's face when he first heard this question. He seemed stunned that someone would ask him a real question. And he almost acted like he didn't have to answer it. As though the troops should be happy he gave any response at all.
