20. Yeah, but not very successfully . . .
I also let my grassroots be shaken for spare change. Was happy to do it and would do it again.

However, I also gave to MoveOn and a couple of other 527s. My objective: get rid of Bush.

I've been a Democrat since I could vote, but McAuliffe is, as MoveOn pointed out, a professional loser who owes his soul to the same people who buy and sell Republicans like penny candy. And, he's not good enough at what he was selected to do, or we would have had little trouble evicting the worst president in living memory from the White House.

While I was never a Deaniac, I couldn't miss the excitement he brought to the party -- when things were seemingly moribund -- and how he pushed Kerry toward what I consider "Democratic values" and away from the useless "Republican lite" path he seemed to be taking. Frankly, I think the Dean influence is what nearly won this for Kerry (by "win," of course, I mean a sufficient majority edge to prevent the vote fraud that handed the election -- again -- to the crook of Crawford).

I also have seen a maturation and deepening of the Dean message since he lost out to Kerry, and would love to have him for Chairman.

Whether he runs in 2008 or not.
