Remember the downed spy plane? When the pilot warned of an imminent collision, he was ordered to put the ship on autopilot.

They were supposed to crash, but that pilot pulled off a miracle and landed the plane.

The same time as a massive anti-Chinese wave of publicity and propaganda, such as Wen Ho Lee, who was finally found innocent of all charges, and all of the unsubstantiated rumors of Chinese spies at our nuclear facilities.
