Calling for an immediate withdrawal won't do any good. It'll just allow the Republicans to say "The Democrats gave up on Iraq before we did."

Then we'd be the bearer of bad news and give the Bush administration the ability to cop out when they eventually withdraw.

I say we let them fall on their faces and break the news that we're withdrawing from Iraq.

Democrats calling for a withdrawal won't do anything any way, it'll have no effect on policy.

Instead by criticizing Bush failures in Iraq without criticizing the mission gives us the ability to lay the blame of withdrawing onto the Bush administration.
