12. Ed Schultz pointed this out, erroneously, to a caller who said
that, if we regained the House (under the guise of "Elect us, we'll impeach"), we'd get rid of Bush.

Schultz reminded her that, if we got rid of Bush, then we'd have to deal with Cheney, then Speaker of the House "Denny Boy" Hastert.

I couldn't call in to correct Big Eddie. He had forgotten one detail.

If we regained the House, then got rid of Bush, then, yes, Cheney would be the successor. If we then successfully got rid of Cheney, Big Eddie was right about the fact that the Speaker of the House would be the next in line via succession. But it would not be Hastert - since we regained the House, the ranking Dem would probably be elected Speaker - since we would own the House.
