Dunno for sure, but I have been told she is a fair person and takes her position seriously.

I think the greatest danger is probably that Massey guy,...um,...Blankenship. I read an article last year about how he spends millions to basically "buy" an office by running negative ads (which apparently works extremely well). I got curious about how he could do that and found out there's a really weird law allowing UNLIMITED independent spending by an individual who's not associated with the candidate or campaign (yeah, right, whatever).

I agree with you that smut works here, unfortunately. I'm sure they will smear Byrd via his age and his previous dixiecrat positions decades ago. That's how they win campaigns nowadays: smear the person, avoid the issues.
