15. The French TV is reporting such things, too. On TV5 tonight they have a

special scheduled on the Katrina mess. It's not enough to talk about how other nations have fallen short of our or their standards. It's infuriating to some but I am way past feeling that way, I guess living through the Vietnam period made that and now this has reinforced it. I have not experienced the smugness mentioned here, I have experienced the surprise and shock Europeans express at what has been happening and it's not possible to argue with it.
