3. stuck between Iraq and Assad's place
for weeks now, it has been very clear that bush cannot survive the political fallout from what's been going on in Iraq ... lucky for him, voters have very short memories ... he's got to have almost our entire military out of their no later than april or may ... maybe even before that ...

but don't kid yourself ... this will have to be more than a "declare victory and bring the troops home for a nice parade" ... that would be a tough sell and he's running pretty thin these days on credibility points ... i think doing a pretty parade now that we've won a great victory in Iraq is way too risky for bush ...

so, what then? i'm afraid we're going to see our troops "needed" somewhere else in the world to "help combat terrorism" ... you might want to think of it as the next PNAC front ... i've had my eye on bush moving troops into saudi arabia ... we'll see ... the goal wouldn't be to topple the government there ... it would be to "protect it from al Qaeda" ...

of course, we now have the Syria Accountablility Act ... maybe that's a hint ... ain't gonna be no parades ... join the army ... see the world ... i'll stick to my bad pun that involves President Assad of Syria and our troops in Iraq ... it looks like we may be stuck between Iraq and Assad's place ...
