Monday's Protest Against Bush

From an article in the Tuesday Denver Post:
http://www.denverpost.com/Stories/0,1413,36%257E23827%257E1788971,00.html

"Down the hill and in a heavily traveled area in full view of the massive presidential motorcade, about 75 people packed a median and chanted, "No war. No war," as the president sped past in a convoy of sleek cars and SUVs.

" They were headed into Fort Carson, where the president spent several hoursMonday speaking with family members of the war dead and more than 5,000 soldiers, family members and dignitaries.

"Anti-war groups have staged demonstrations periodically across the United States since the invasion in March. About 75 protesters joined Monday to send a message to the president that not everyone favors the war. The demonstrators spread out along a highway leading into one of the entrances to Fort Carson.

"So many (Americans) have been sold on this story about terrorism. That's all we hear about, and people are fear-based," Gossage said. "I also think a lot of people are afraid to come out because of what happened in February.
... It's like ... people went back into their holes, and you cannot blame them. It's a scary situation," she said."

The article mentioned one demonstrator with signs supporting Bush.
