8. It's easy to hate Bush. But look to the root of the problem.
Bush is merely an amalgamation representative of far more serious issues within America. Those issues include the reemergence of Social Darwinism as a social/political force and its trickle down to the middle class from the elitist upper class, the political and financial clout of the "Christian" religious right and its choke hold on the Republican Party, the Corporate consolidation of media, the heavy influence that money wields in politics and government, a disdain for education, and and apathetic, fearful attitude towards open public discourse. We can hate Bush, and even give him the boot next year, but all of the aformentioned forces will not lose their power. In fact, they will simply rally together and find more power and even more money to get another puppet back in office within four years, if not sooner.

In other words, Bush is merely one head of this Hydra-like beast that represents the rabid Reactionary Right. Even if we cut that head off, the beast will simply grow another one (Jeb?).

If we are to truly defeat this monster, we are going to have to strike at its very heart. That means initiating a grassroots movement to take back control of the Democratic Party and create new media enterprises to get our views and opinions out to the people, so that we can truly compete against the rabid reactionaries.

Stopping Bush in 2004 will not be enough.
