I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. It's heartbreaking to lose a friend like that. No one greets you at the door, or raises your spirits like your beloved pets do.

A co-worker of mine lost her cat, Oscar a couple weeks ago from colon cancer. She had him for 17 years. She talked about him all the time and it was so sad to see her come into work in the mornings knowing she'd been crying all night. Oftentimes people don't understand the very real, deep bond that can form between a person and their pet. You don't usually get sympathy cards if your pet passes away.

She got a nice paw print from the vet, set in plaster, with his name engraved below. I made her a gift basket and found this wonderful little book titled, 'For Every Cat An Angel'. I recommend it. She has since rescued a new kitty out of the pound.
