9. unemployment?
I have worked all but the first 3 weeks of the past year I have lived here, and now permanently. Seattle was way worse (a slice of heaven but with hellish traffic and economy), going months between jobs after a layoff.

Be jealous of Flag all you want, by WHY A SPRAWLING CAULDRON OF HEAT AND REPUBLICANS LIKE PHOENIX??? I have come to hate big cities the older I get. Life is too short for rat races and angry urbanite/suburbanite games of oneupmanship (like reading today that SUV and Hummer sales are UP in PHX, while in the rest of the nation sales are down).

Phoenix steals the soul. It is colorless, hot beyond redemption, and devoid of charm or culture. Unless malls count as culture.

I bet you are the ONLY DUer from AZ that thinks the place is worth a damn. The others live there because of jobs or family, and aren't all that crazy about it. (Gotta love how Catshrink calls it the Valley of The Dumb) I think it's a sickness to live in such wasteful sprawl, myself.
