blames the "Democratic Party" for not having a good enough candidate, if "they" stuck to their ideals more, we'd have Nader, but no, "they' have to go and nominate someone who says things based on polling, all Dems suck, blah blah, (btw, he doesn't believe my fraud theories, says I've been "reading the internet too much".

The reason he started going off on me is b/c I mentioned I was going to try to see if I could do the recount training tomorrow for Gregoire, and somehow I'm a traitor to my true Democratic ideals, it's b/c of people like me that this country will never have a decent candidate, no difference between dems and rethugs, you've all heard this before..and yet he voted for Kerry this time bc he did think * would be worse, and I'm a bad person b/c I campaigned for him? aaargh, I know you've all heard this before, and I have a couple of other friends like that, too, but they don't paint me as a bad person perpetuating the decline of democracy, that is so insulting, I mean we do what we can given the realities of the need to appeal to a large portion of voters, and maybe our ideals differ, but I know I have a better chance of having my ideals come to fruition, even partially, and help work towards changing the general public's ideals and acceptance of a Nader candidate, it's playing the game just to keep alive, and maintain a chance for progression rather than having an all or nothing attitude. It's like someone who thinks that if they don't get an A then why bother, when they could have chosen to accept a B or even a C instead of letting an F ruin things.

anyway, just had to vent to people who understand, and maybe some of you can relate also to one his more annoying statements:

"You're young, I thought like that to when I was your age" aaaaargh! (I'm 32 btw, not that it should matter, if I was older than him I'd be old-fashioned or something, but I really hate it when people try to dismiss my opinions with the age thing, that is so unfair and condenscending, and a cop-out. well, guess there's a reason I hadn't contacted this friend in a year, but damn do I get tired of the age card. will I ever outgrow it?
