14. If you really need a Windows box
(And can't do with what a Mac can do either with compatible programs or via emulation), then I would say either a Dell or Toshiba.

If you are only using it for work, get one with a decently wide screen, good memory (Windows XP starts working well at 1GB, get more if you can). And HD (Most good laptops have at least 60 GB).

Also, DVD burner (which means CD-RW capability too). And as much as I hate to say it, if you travel a lot, get the extended warranty - the kind that covers you should you break the screen or something. Also, you might consider getting yourself a second power cord right off. More useful than you would think.
