42. AP is Advanced Placement
In most schools, you don't need to have a history with a particular teacher, you just need the grades to justify being in the class.

If you can get into an AP English class, you should. Writing skills are usually stressed in these classes and if you do well on the AP exam (administered at the end of the year) you can skip freshman English in college. (I did.)
